Brent Concolino was born and raised in Orange County, CA. In 1999 Brent started at ROCK Institute for Sports Performance Training for Baseball, Football, Soccer and Lacrosse. Brent went on to Letter every year in all sports he played in high-school as well as becoming League co-MVP in Baseball his junior year, and honored with all league selections. In Baseball, Brent had the fortunate opportunity to play for former professional pitcher Mark Langston, 3-time MLB league strikeout leader, who played 16 years in professional baseball with teams such as the Anaheim Angels, San Diego Padres and Cleveland Indians. Langston considered Brent as “one of the best natural Athletes to come out of Orange County I have ever seen”.
In 2003 Brent was voted a top Southern California player of the year by California Coaches Association. After healing from a torn hamstring he went on to Saddleback College to stay close to ROCK Institute to continue getting treatment. Brent started up baseball again and, unfortunately, soon thereafter tore his right medial collateral ligament in his right pitching elbow. Surgery soon became inevitable and underwent multiple Tommy John Surgerys from Dr. Lewis Yocum. Brent continued training at ROCK Institute and was able to make a comeback at UCLA in 2006 where he encountered another challenge during the year: still another “Tommy John” surgery occurred at the end of the 2006 year as well as a nerve Transplant. Brent began to make another comeback. However, this time he experienced extreme sharp pain and was unable to continue throwing a baseball. Brent Graduated from UCLA and continued to study Sports Medicine and the history of Sports Injuries and realized that too many athletes were being physically and mentally destroyed by the old school way of sports training at such a young age.
In his 30 years as a surgeon, Dr. Lewis A. Yocum, the former medical director for the Los Angeles Angels, said he had performed only one Tommy John procedure on a pitcher as young as 16. He later begun to perform 80 to 100 of the operations each year.” Kids are even getting surgery upon entering high school due to over-training and/or poor techniques in training in their specific sport. Brent has now devoted himself to developing & guiding young athletes to compete at their highest level without over-training their bodies and minds. Brent has trained thousands of athletes from high school phenomenon’s to college All-Americans as well as Olympic Gold Medalist’s. Brent defines himself as “A Simply Average Person” (a.s.a.p.) who is able to get people from where they are (point A) to where they would like to be (point “B”, “C” and forward).

Mike Wright, PT, is the Director of the Corrective Therapy Division at The ROCK Institute, where he leads a team dedicated to functional rehabilitation and optimized performance. Growing up in Tehachapi, CA, he was a standout athlete, captaining both his high school baseball and football teams. After sustaining a rotator cuff injury during his sophomore year, Mike’s interest in physical therapy was sparked through his own rehabilitation experience.
He pursued Kinesiology at San Diego State University and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles in 2013. Mike began his career in San Diego, where he worked in an orthopedic setting and served as a clinical director. Early in his career, he recognized a gap in traditional therapy methods, which often focused on isolated issues rather than the body’s interconnected function. This observation led him to earn his certification in Applied Functional Science (CAFS) from the Gray Institute, deepening his commitment to holistic, functional care.
Throughout his time in San Diego, Mike worked extensively with collegiate and professional athletes, including NFL combine trainees, which sparked his interest in sports performance. This passion ultimately drew him to The ROCK Institute in Orange County, where he now applies his expertise to lead the Corrective Therapy Division, helping clients achieve their rehabilitation and athletic goals through an integrated, whole-body approach.

She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Azusa Pacific University as well as a Master’s in Nursing Leadership from Western Governors University. Elijah was born and raised in San Pedro, California. He has had a lifelong passion for sports, especially basketball. Unfortunately, Elijah suffered two big injuries in high school that put a halt to his seasons. These injuries led Elijah to an interest in Kinesiology. After high school he attended Long Beach City Junior College where he played basketball. In two years playing basketball for the Vikings, he had a combined record of 42-10, as well as receiving First Team All-Conference nominations and was named a JUCO All-American. His success at LBCC carried him into receiving a full athletic scholarship at Pittsburg State University in Kansas. He graduated in Spring 2020 from Cal State Dominguez Hills with a Bachelors in Kinesiology.
Immediately after college, Elijah stepped into the coaching world given the opportunity to coach both boys and girls basketball at Sage Hill High School. Wanting to do more within the kinesiology field he joined the team at ROCK specializing in sports performance. Elijah finds great satisfaction seeing others achieve their goals, whatever they are. Elijah enjoys showing athletes that they are capable of more than they know in all areas of life, not just athletics.

On April 9, 2005, I became the 17th African American in history to run a sub 4-minute mile. After graduating from UCLA, I was sponsored by Nike and trained and raced in the US and Europe in preparation for the 2008 Olympics, eventually earning an alternate spot in the 1500 meters.
After the Olympic Games, a kidney biopsy revealed a terminal disease known as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, or FSGS. Following this diagnosis, I retired from the
sport I love to dedicate myself to battling FSGS and taking care of my family.
After receiving an experimental stem cell surgery that reversed my kidney disease in 2011, I vowed never to take for granted what time I still have left to live my dream of inspiring others to get the most out of their life as a motivational speaker and with the help of inspirational apparel by his company Go Be More.
